How Can I Find My Skin Type?
Understand your skin and choose the right natural care 🌿
Understanding your skin type is one of the most important steps in building a healthy skincare routine. Once you know your skin type, choosing the right products becomes much easier and more effective.
Below, we’ll introduce the different skin types and then guide you through simple tests you can do at home to determine yours.
Oily Skin
If your skin often appears shiny or greasy, especially in the T-zone (forehead, nose, and chin), you likely have oily skin. Oily skin is more prone to clogged pores, blackheads, whiteheads, and breakouts.
Dry Skin
Dry skin may feel tight, itchy, flaky, or rough. Fine lines and wrinkles tend to be more visible, and the skin may lack elasticity due to insufficient moisture.
Normal Skin
Normal skin is balanced—neither too oily nor too dry. It feels comfortable, hydrated, and soft, with small pores and minimal sensitivity.
Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin may react easily to products, showing redness, dryness, or stinging sensations. It often benefits from gentle, non-toxic, fragrance-free skincare.
Combination Skin
Combination skin includes both oily and dry areas. The T-zone is usually oily, while cheeks may feel normal or dry.
Test #1: Cleanse & Blot
Cleanse your face, pat it dry, and wait 30 minutes without applying products. Press a tissue gently on different areas of your face:
- Tissue sticks → Oily skin
- Tissue falls → Dry skin
- Mixed results → Combination skin
Test #2: Pore Size Check
Use a mirror to examine your pores closely:
- Large pores → Oily skin
- Very small pores → Dry skin
- Medium pores → Normal skin
Test #3: Cleanse & Wait
Cleanse your face thoroughly and wait one hour without applying products. Then observe:
- Shiny or reflective → Oily skin
- Tight or flaky → Dry skin
- Different textures → Combination skin
